Not All Hospitals Need Substantially More Government Relief

The American Hospital Association released a statement after the Senate’s passage of the American Rescue Plan saying that while the bill does contain “many provisions to help hospitals and health systems provide care to their patients and communities … The AHA is disappointed that the bill does not deliver more overall funding for the Provider Relief Fund, which has been crucial in supplying hospitals, health systems and other providers with resources during the pandemic.”
It is true that the CARES Act’s Provider Relief Fund did help hospitals all across the country stay afloat. However, as earnings reports reveal, not all hospitals need substantially more government relief.
