NUMEROF PUBLISHED IN THE PHYSICIAN EXECUTIVE JOURNAL ON THE SILVER TSUNAMI

The U.S. is facing an unprecedented expansion in the elderly population as the Baby Boom ages.  Meanwhile, healthcare spending continues to increase, due in part to the effects of this “silver tsunami.”

Dr. Glenn Mitchell discusses the resulting need for more and more intense, sophisticated and expensive healthcare in  The Silver Tsunami, as seen in the July issue of the Physician Executive Journal.  Glenn identifies where healthcare leaders will need to focus to serve an aging population.  He also provides insight on the need for evidence-based medicine and greater accountability for both outcomes and cost.
