The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has recently taken the first steps to increase hospital accreditation and oversight and regulation through their December request for information. The decision to do so has not come lightly – while the government is pushing for more regulation and oversight, other organizations want less so hospitals can keep their doors open.
