President Dr. Rita Numerof moderated an insightful discussion for members of the Georgia Hospital Association in Amelia Island, Florida on Corporate Decision Making in Healthcare. Experts from UPS, Southern Company, and Mohawk Industries shared their companies’ health care purchasing strategies, providing perspective on how they define value in health care and the steps they’re taking to enhance it.

As employee health care costs continue to escalate, employers are demanding that hospitals provide better care at lower cost. If a hospital can’t demonstrate a commitment to quality and efficiency, employers will direct plan members to others that will.

Speakers included:

  • Phil Brown, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Mohawk Industries
  • B.J. Dorfman, Director, U.S. Benefits, Corporate Health Care, UPS
  • Jan Carter, Health Services Manager, Southern Company
