Vice President Kim White moderated a panel on risk-sharing at this year’s AMCP Nexus in National Harbor, Maryland.  Risk-sharing agreements between payers and manufacturers have long been used outside the U.S. to manage the cost of medical products and to link cost to outcomes achieved. However, uptake in the U.S. has been slower than in other developed markets. Growing pressure on delivery organizations to take on risk and lower the cost of care has brought renewed attention to risk sharing agreements with manufacturers.
