Brian C. Evanko has been a central part of The Cigna Group’s leadership team for decades and will now step into the CEO role, succeeding longtime leader David Cordani.

Managing Partner Michael Abrams explained in an interview with Financial Times – Health Payer Specialist that after years of major strategic moves under Cordani, the focus is now likely to be on disciplined execution.

On Evanko’s track record, Abrams noted,

He’s not anybody who shakes things up. From the point of view of shareholders and the board, there’s nothing to shake up.
