Rita E. Numerof, PhD

PRESIDENT

Dr. Rita Numerof is the co-founder and President of Numerof. Her dedication, leadership, and passion have guided Numerof into its third decade of continuous growth and success.

From the firm’s inception, Rita has focused on developing new business models for companies in industries undergoing major market changes. Her work has spanned industries that are critical to global economic growth – financial services, healthcare delivery, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, telecommunications, and major industrial manufacturing. Bringing experience, style, and boundless energy, Rita has applied her expertise to help organizations create and execute successful new strategies in the face of fundamental market shifts.

Rita has a deep understanding of the challenges executives face in sustaining growth and profitability in increasingly fluid markets. As a result, she’s become a trusted advisor to senior management teams across a wide range of leading companies. Her cross-industry perspective, combined with her expertise in executing strategy and optimizing corporate performance are the basis for objective counsel that leading executives rely on.

Dr. Numerof graduated magna cum laude from the Honors College, Syracuse University and received her PhD from Bryn Mawr College. She is widely published in business journals, has authored five books and serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.

Michael N. Abrams, MA

MANAGING PARTNER

Michael Abrams is co-founder and Managing Partner of Numerof. Over the last 25 years he has built a portfolio of strategy and business performance successes as an internal and external consultant to Fortune 500 corporations.

Leveraging the corporate management experience he acquired prior to founding Numerof, Michael has shaped the development of Numerof’s approach, including the firm’s emphasis on innovative and realistic strategies for changing markets, as well as rigor in managing the complex change necessary for improving organizational performance.

While appreciating the art of running a business, Michael maximizes the science of it. He is an advocate for data-based business decision-making, helping clients develop structured tools and guidelines that support important decisions. He encourages objectivity and practicality in the design and installation of database management, decision support systems, and technology integration, ensuring that they truly support business objectives.

Mr. Abrams completed his doctoral work in business policy at St. Louis University and received his MA from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He co-authored Healthcare at a Turning Point: A Roadmap for Change, and his articles have appeared in more than a dozen leading business journals. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Washington University, Webster University in St. Louis, and LaSalle University School of Business Administration in Philadelphia. Michael has taught MBA courses in strategy, management, program planning and evaluation, quantitative decision making, and market analysis.
